3 months on
Well, just did my second CD4%, VL test last week, the results will be ready next week.. People asked me why I do it in a private clinic instead of a govt hospital? The answer is simple, time. I cannot afford to take time off from work to go to a govt hospital that only opens late into the morning and closes early in the evening.
With a private clinic, I can go at night. But then, for CD4%, have to take it in the morning, no?
It costs me between RM300-RM500 each tests every 3 months and it has now drained me of my financial resources.. I am quite tight at the moment.. Sigh.. Already defaulted on credit cards cos I cannot pay them on time..

Just recently my sex partner and I went to PT Foundation for HIV test. It was tested negative but of course it doesn't mean that I am not at risk. Frankly speaking, I seldom have sex but recently, I was infected with trichomonas and a number of gonorrhea bacterium appeared in the sample. The Sanasee Clinic in Jalan Kuchai Lama gave me a ceftriaxone jab for gonorrhea although the doctor said it wasn't conclusive (just to be sure that the bacteria is gone for good).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I am alright now from trichomonas and gonorrhea. It really make me feel that it just takes one opportunity for these nasty bacterium and viruses to wreak havoc in our lives.
By the way, PT Foundation has a support group for PLWHA. The fella at PT Foundation is very helpful and I even get to know one HIV+ person who live his life positively.
On the financial stuff, I am not sure if I can help but in any case, the credit card woes can be directed to AKPK. They'll help to restructure your repayment into a more manageable one. But the drawback is, you can't have any other loans or credit cards until you have settled the defaulted payment. :)
Hey..
DeleteDo know that having STD increase your chance of getting HIV quadzillion times fold.. It need not be penetrative to get infected, simple gum bleeding or just STD alone at anus is more than sufficient.. I speak from experience..
You are lucky to have just STD, but do take my advise and go for more HIV tests.. It certainly changed my life forever but not necessary for the worse, at least it gives me a second chance at life to live right..
I know about PTF, but being known in my industry, I cannot put a face to this name.. A simple presence is enough to wreck my career for good.. Thus, I refrained from showing face..
On the financial side, I am very well aware of AKPK, if you go to them, you're done for good (I felt as it does more harm than good in a way), and you have to surrender all your existing cards..
Thanks for leaving a comment.. :)
