What if you were HIV+?

Has anyone given a thought to the topic above before?

I guess not. We only think about it after its too late. Not one of us, not any of us would have given it a serious thought when we were on the bed with our legs apart. I'm sorry my friends, that if you think we pozzie whine, we don't. We don't even have any regrets anymore.

We have been given a second chance in life, and while we go on with our lives living it to the fullest and making every day count plus ensuring we keep ourselves and our loved ones safe, it is you out there, the ignorant ones, that are in danger.

We may have our own set of complications and problems but none of them are all as much as the single ignorance and blatant disregard for safe sex. Put on the fucking condom! And as a bottom, insist on the fucking condom!!

I just had my 3rd reading result out. My CD4 count dropped a little to 458, and I think I know why. Smoking. All else being equal through the months, I lighted up more than the first 6 months.

I have been seeing this nice sweet petite lady doctor in the government clinic now for my needs. She just makes life so much easier, and fast too. Personalized service as we have a separate counter and consultation room. Like a VIP lane. So much win...

Ok - back to the topic.

Shortly said, just spend a couple ringgit for the condoms or suffer the consequences of a few thousand to treat STD AND lifelong medications and/or complications that NO INSURANCE COMPANY IN MALAYSIA WILL PAY. You will have to pay for all the medical expenses yourself, even if you have millions in insurance coverage.

And also the supplements and vitamins that are costly, in addition to the meds.

  1. When I was in relationship with my previous partner, he was having this bout of rashes all over his body. We thought it was somehow related to HIV infection. We both were terrified with the idea but somehow, we promised that whatever happen, we would be there for each other (we broke off soon after that and after checking with PTF's anonymous HIV testing service, it turned out to be something else other than HIV).

And of late, some of my friends and I did have a thought about the question 'what if'. I know no insurance company in Malaysia (or in the world, I think) would cover HIV-related illnesses. And we're very fortunate that in Malaysia, the medication is either free or heavily subsidised.

I think most people wouldn't give a hoot on safe sex until they are inflicted with some form of STDs. I am giving out free scolding for those who insist on having unprotected sex with him and no matter how drop dead gorgeous someone is, I am certainly not going to condone unprotected sex.

And it is quite surprising that some of the social media sites can make safe sex as an individual option; people can actually 'negotiate' whether or not to have safe sex. I'd say, no negotiation on safe sex, it is a must, full stop.
